[Scalp Treatment Review + Video] I admit Im usually really careful with what I use on my skin and hair, but like most people, I tend to ignore my scalp. Do you also know that the scalp and hair are far more complex than they appear on the surface? Not only do they play a vital role in the appearance of a person, it also affects the emotional well-being, too! Taking care of your scalp is just as important as any part of the complexion as it is actually a part of skin.
TrichoKare Treatment Review

What is Trichology?
Trichology is the science of the structure, function, diseases and care of the human hair and scalp. It covers the anatomy, chemistry and physiology of the hair and scalp, as well as nutrition, genetics and microbiology.
I have been suffering from red sensitive scalp for quite awhile now, and even when my current hair salon would apply a scalp treatment for me, frankly I think it only helps alleviate some discomfort but does not totally solve the problem. Hence when TrichoKare invited me for a complimentary treatment, I glad to have the opportunity as I have heard so much about them in TV shows and magazines, so I was really looking forward to the experience! (But not really looking forward to see the condition of my scalp though! Eeeks.. I have a bad feeling...)
Why Trichokare?
TrichoKare (pronounced as Try-ko-care) is a holistic hair and scalp care centre that provides European botanical hair remedies, catering to all hair conditions. Started by a certified trichologist and being the first ISO 9001 certified trichological centre in Singapore, TrichoKare provides a comfortable and luxurious environment for its customers to enjoy pampering hair and scalp care treatments through premium European herbs.
Common scalp problems that Trichokare treats :
Androgenetic Alopecia (Male Pattern Hair Loss)
Female Pattern Hair Loss
Post-partum Alopecia (Hair loss after child birth)
Post-menopause Hair Loss
Alopecia Areata (Hair loss in distinct patches)
Seborrhea Oleosa (Greasy scalp)
Pityriasis Capitis (Dandruff)
Dry and brittle hair
How it works
At TrichoKare, treatments are validated by a certified trichologist with products formulated by a professional herbalist. Herbology’s philosophy is all about carefully analyzing and dealing with underlying reasons for hair problems before treatment is recommended. TrichoKare addressed the hair roots problems and leverage on the healing abilities of natural European herbs to promote hair growth and strengthening the immunity of hair and scalp problems.
My fellow blogger friends
I was happy to see a few familiar faces that day too! :)
At TrichoKare, the Trichologist/ Hair Specialist will consult with each client to examine the scalp and hair to determine the disorder and underlying cause. Using a specialized microscope, they will examine the scalp and determine which problems/disorders to treat.
My Trichologist Jane Ang was so friendly and she made me felt at ease even though I was nervous to see the condition of my scalp! I have a sensitive scalp and sometimes I even get dandruff when I use the wrong hair products so Im definitely curious to see how my scalp will look under a microscope!
Sitting in the private consultation room, Jane explained that the TrichoKare treatments are devised from a broad array of natural plant extracts meant to stimulate hair follicles and prevent hair problems from returning. Active herbal ingredients include Leopard’s Bane, Nettle, Rosemary etc. These European herbal infusions have scalp cleansing and detoxifying properties used over the centuries to optimize the health of scalp skin. Thus, they are suitable for both adults and even children. I like how gentle these treatments sound! No harsh chemicals here.
The moment of truth!
Eeeks! I am HORRIFIED! If u look closely, my scalp is a mess! Its red and sensitive, with patched of dandruff. My worst fears confirmed. *sobs*
Before
The treatment rooms were huge! With ample space, soothing music and comfortable armchairs.., it felt like I was at a relaxing hair spa instead.
I love how professional and spacious their treatment area is, - it was neat, clean and at the corner there's an array of magazines and newspapers for customers.
As my Therapist Calvy led me to my seat and kindly gave me a drink and some reading material before starting the treatment.
Getting all comfortable!
Consisting of active European herbs extracts, all TrichoKare treatment promises to:
- Promoting scalp metabolism by improving blood circulation on the scalp
- Strengthen hair follicles by cleansing clogged pores
- Control sebum level within the scalp by balancing pH level
My personalized scalp mask using European herbs like Nettle (to stimulate the scalp, improve circulation) and Lavender (which has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti fungal and anti-septic properties that help with hair loss, shedding and inflammatory scalp conditions) - I could even smell the soothing scent of Lavender as it was applied on me!
Washed and rinsed my hair after the mask and its time for another step
The therapist proceeds to apply the Follicle Enforcer on my scalp to promote hair growth and strengthen hair follicles.
My favorite part of the treatment was when my therapist placed a warm shoulder pad on me while massaging my neck and shoulders! That felt like heaven instantly!
A head massage follows and I was so tempted to fall asleep at this point!
The last part of the treatment is to blowdry my hair!
I am impressed at how expertly Calvy blows my hair and she does it with such ease ... like a professional hair stylist!
Finally, I sit under infra heat to allow all the goodness that was previously applied on me to absorb in better!
Note how shiny my hair looks!
Right after my treatment, I head back to the private consultation room to check on my scalp again!
This time round, I could see the difference from the BEFORE and AFTER pictures significantly! Jane explains that for my condition, I would need a couple more treatments to heal my scalp but frankly I am pleased to see such results even after one treatment! Very tempted to go for more treatments now!
K, show u one more time!!!
Before and After
Afterthoughts : I have to say that their professionalism impressed me the most! The staff there displayed efficiency and they all seem to be very well-versed and knowledgeable about the treatments that Trichokare has to offer. I like how comfortable the whole process took, it really felt like a pampering day at the spa. The hot compress and head massage was to-die-for! The treatments rendered here are all done using European herbs that is totally safe and by helping the body heal itself naturally. Instead of using harsh chemicals to solve your scalp and hair problems, Trichokare firmly believes in using nature’s healing powers that will assist to regenerate, restore and even revive the body just as Nature intended. Most importantly, each customer is personally attended to and treatments will be advised according to their needs and area of concern. I was glad to see positive results even after one treatment and my scalp did feel much cleaner and not as sensitive after.
Thanks Trichokare for extending the invitation to me!
